  Why is Packing Important?

Packing and 28-way

There are many benefits to knowing how to pack you skydiving parachute. As you gain more and more jumps, you will want the ability to physically do more skydives in a day at Skydive Hibaldstow. Making that 20 minute call and having sufficient time to brief your skydive makes all the difference when you can pack fast and safely for yourself.

Some jumpers are simply not interested in packing and are happy to use a paid packer. However, a good understanding of packing ensures consistency in your own pack jobs. In addition, packing teaches you how the parachute works as a wing.

A packing course can save you money in the long run, it is also a lot of fun. Choose a flat packing or pro packing course with Richie Rich at Skydive Hibaldstow UK.

  Packing Courses
Parachute PackingTo gain your BPA B-License, you must have a good knowledge of parachute packing. This may be either in the form of a BPA Packing Certificate (which approves you to pack anything listed on your certificate) or by a logbook endorsement (which approves you to pack your own kit only).

Rich Aveyard, BPA Parachute Rigger 217, will run packing courses roughly every month, or when there is a good demand for courses. These courses will introduce you to the basics of parachute packing and will concentrate either on flat-packing (for a packing certificate) or pro-packing (for a logbook endorsement for your own kit).

Please note: These courses will probably not give you a packing certificate / endorsement after only 1 day. The day is designed to give you a good introduction to packing, but further practice is required before you will become competent enough to be issued with a packing qualification. However, further coaching is free!

Next course dates: Friday 1st February, 2008

How to Book & General Information
  Booking

You can either email or phone the centre (01652 648837) for information on the arranged days or to book yourself in.

bullet To Be Arranged

The packing courses compliment the B-License Progression Days and, if possible, will be run as close as possible to each other.

Who Should Attend?
This course is suitable for all skydivers who have are either learning to skydive on their AFF / RAPS course or who have recently passed. We encourage everyone to learn how to pack as soon as possible. Doing this will give you a greater understanding of the parachute and how it works. It will also complement your skills as you prepare to buy your first parachute.

Many attendees of the Pro-Packing course, will already know how to flat pack and will also own their own rig. Learning how to pro pack is faster and takes up less room in the packing hangar.

Course Cost
Courses will start at 9.00am and will run for the day. Places are limited to a maximum of 5 people per course to allow Rich to devote enough attention to each person on the course. The day costs £20.
